Cousins Tony Montesano (right) and Lui Montesano (left), owners of Luigi's Pizza opened up their NY Style pizzeria in Charlotte, NC in January 2005. This was the first of two locations that are now located in Charlotte. Tony, originally from Bensonhurst Brooklyn, NY and Lui, originally from Rocca di Neto, Italia (Calabria region), decided to bring their pizza making experience to Charlotte. This was done so everyone looking for the right pie would not have to go back "HOME" to get thier favorite pizza. With both their fathers, once partners from a Luigi's Pizza of their own, the cousins decided to continue the tradition of pizza excellence. Tony's father and Lui's brother still have a Luigi's Pizza in Morehead City, NC and have been there for the past 20 years. Luigi's Pizza Whitehall debut in Charlotte in January 2005 and Luigi's Pizza (Steelecreek) opened in October 2008.

Luigi's Pizza has now been running about 7 years here in Charlotte and continue to enjoy making everyones favorite pizza. Luigi's Pizza is also the reigning champions of the Charlotte Observers 2009 Tournament of Pizza, as determined by the voting public. Also, Luigi's was voted Best Pizza and Best Family Restaurant in the Lake Wylie Pilot!  So come down to Luigi's for the best pizza experience in Charlotte!
